Fota Wildlife Park

Located on Fota Island near Carrigtwohill, Fota Wildlife Park is one of Ireland’s top conservation and family attractions. Unlike traditional zoos, Fota offers a unique, free-range experience, allowing many species to roam freely across 100 acres of parkland. The park is an active participant in international endangered species breeding programmes and is dedicated to education and research.

Fota is famed for its large mammals, including giraffes, rhinos, and primates, but the undisputed stars are its big cats, such as the critically endangered Sumatran Tigers and the magnificent Cheetahs. Visitors can see the Cheetahs reach incredible speeds during the dedicated daily feeding runs, showcasing the park’s commitment to animal welfare and enrichment.
