Blarney Castle

Blarney Castle, located just outside Cork City, is one of Ireland’s most beloved and famous medieval strongholds. Built nearly six centuries ago by the MacCarthy family, Kings of Munster, the castle is steeped in history, myth, and legend.

The primary attraction is the world-renowned Blarney Stone. Visitors queue to climb the tower and hang backward over the battlements to kiss the Stone, a tradition said to bestow the “gift of the gab” (great eloquence or skill at flattery).

Beyond the iconic Stone, the castle is set within extensive and beautiful grounds, featuring the mysterious Rock Close, the serene Poison Garden, and meandering river walks, making it a spectacular destination blending history, folklore, and natural beauty.
